  1. They did alot of "live" operations and autopsies and learned alot about the inside of the body.
  2. Benefit. The only one I've read of is the use of alloy rods to mend bone fractures, a method in use today. The rod is inserted into the bone lengthwise, as a sort of internal splint, and left there.
  3. Scientific discoveries?? The biggest discovery of all was the inhumanity to humans by humans.
  4. The Curta calculator, the first hand held calculator. The Curta was invented by Curt Herzstark while he was a prisoner in the Buchenwald concentration camp. Following the end of WWII he completed and perfected the design. They were made in Liechtenstein by Contina AG Mauren. They were widely considered the best portable calculators available, until they were displaced by electronic calculators in the 1970s. these are still being sold today, look on ebay.
  5. Yes, Wegener's granulomatosis. Also one man did many tests on gay subjects and it is believed that they first thought of homosexual people as mentally insane because of this. Which is now a complete misunderstanding of the human brain.
