Lost River Camps

What are some of your best summer camp memories? What makes certain counselors better than others?

I'm going to be a summer camp counselor for children of all ages and I'm trying to think of things I can do to provide an interesting and unique experience. Here are some of the things that made my camp experience as a camper just a bit different: 1. After lights-out story telling 2. Decorating the cabin 3. Making flower chains What are some things I can do as a summer camp counselor that will enrich the camper's experience?

  1. Some of the best memories that I had in camp were: 1. Singing silly songs while we walked 2. the way that the counselors woke us up--they were very gentile, yet, we always woke up 3. our cook outs over an open fire 4. sleeping on a tarp on the flag field
  2. I love playing friendly pranks on other cabins! Once we snuck into another cabin and replaced their big trash can with a little one. Another time we put a big stuffed frog in the middle of their cabin. And I liked it when our counselor would yell out "VOLCANO" while walking and you have to run and get off the ground, for example stand on a rock or hold onto a tree.
