Celebrating 60 years of misery in refugee camps. Will the world stand beside the Palestinians now?
Millions of Palestinians live in camps as refugees since 1948 after they escaped Israeli violence. They live on UN aid since that time. Those who were able to find a work chance in other countries fled to them, but those who could not are still living in refugee camps till now. Can you tell what did the world do to save them this misery? msblast6 Yes, we live in a cruel world. It did nothing to save the Jews nor the Pals.

- What did the world do to save the Jews from the Holocaust? The world might not have done much to help the Palestinians, but it is not necessarily their job.
- The people of the world will stand beside the Palestinians, but they have yet to elect leaders who will represent them.
- One could only hope so. If the media told the truth about what really is going on over there, something might actually be done.
- Most of them were escaping before ever seeing Israeli soldiers. Their nice Arab brothers keep them in those refugee camps for 60 years. How humane! And what a welcoming culture you guys have! I am truly amazed. I think I might consider converting, cause I see how you treat your own kind, and I am just jealous.
- Hamas is their government. Instead of spending millions of dollars on missiles to fire at childfen in Israel maybe they should help their people who elected them. Thats a better question !
- There is nothing to celebrate for and not one country in 60 years has done much of anything to help. There are no other refugees on this planet that have been refugees for 60 years, and the years we will continue to count sadly. Even humanitarian countries such as Canada refuse to give them even a chance at living as others do. Peace. Palestinian Refugees Fight Canadian Deportations http://www.boykotisrael.dk/palestinian_refugees_fight_canad.htm Stateless & Deported Coalition Against the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees http://refugees.resist.ca/document/overview_m.htm Canada: Fight the Deportation of Palestinian Refugees http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article6502.shtml The list goes on and on and on and on...............one day may God give them their human rights and freedom just as we all have and take for granted when we look the other way. Peace to all! edit: the refugees do not get billions of dollars every year. UNRWA is a volunteer donation wing of the UN. Every year the donations and the donar countries become less and less. If anyone wants to throw wind in the air without the knowledge and for those who have a heart and wish to learn more plz see this official UNRWA website. Peace! There are Palestinian refugees not only in Gaza and the West Bank, but also Jordan , Syria, Lebanon, Iran, the list goes on.
- i do not think so and it is a great shame but the ilamic world wont even stand by them ho what poor people we are
- No ways .The palestinians have had 60 years to get off their asses.and billions of $$ donations. If you go to the west bank and Gaza you would not know the difference between the so called refugee camps and just a poor neighbourhood they all look the same. Can't fool the world any more.....a refugee in your own country it's a joke.
- It's nothing to celebrate.
- No one will stand beside the Palestinians until the kills between them and Israel stop. It doesn't matter who started it, it doesn't matter who attacked who first, that sort of mentality will only keep the killings and forsake any peace. If the Palestinians truly want someone to stand by them, and truly want a homeland again, they could be the ones to stand up and announce they are through with the violence, and are ready to work peacefully towards the goal of creating the independent state of Palestine. There will be camps until the violence ends. Until the deaths stop completely, on both sides, nothing will happen. Don't wait for the other side to call for peace. Step up, take ownership of the future, and call peace.
- Don't you think it's time the arab world offered some economic help? Maybe they could start with the fatah run camps in Lebanon.Perhaps Saudi arabia could step in and settle the constant fighting between the palestinians and the Lebanese army.
- There are those that will tell you that we are all supposed to be carrying a guilt burden for the actions of Hitler, whilst forgetting what his targets are doing to the Palestinian people. I just don't share their view. Jews who keep quiet on this issue should bury themselves in shame.
- The Jewish violence? Me thinks someone has been reading the wrong history books. As a matter of interest, not all the Arabs living at the area known as Palestine (let's make it quite clear that it was an AREA and not a country - there has NEVER been a country called Palestine in the history of this planet) left in 1948. The ones that remained have done very well for themselves and are treated as Israeli's. Contrary to belief - you don't have to be Jewish to be an Israeli.
